Nati Zuniga

Bienvenid@s!

I’m a birthworker, dreamworker, and death worker. I stand at the gates of the beginning and the end of life.

Accompanying pregnant people through their journey of childbirth, supporting physiological births, and during the early postpartum period fills my heart with immense joy and fulfillment.

Holding space for you, taking care of you, and nurturing you and your family as you create, give birth, and nurture a new life is the greatest honor for me.

I did my Birth Doula training with Debra Pascali Bonnaro from Orgasmic Birth under DONA in 2014, and followed it up with an Advance Doula training with Whapio Bartlett from The Matrona. I did a training on Birth Art and Crossing the Threshold from Birthing from Within. Then, I returned to my home country, Peru where I assisted births alongside Ruro Caituiro, a Traditional Midwife from the Andes. I delved deeper into the importance of incorporating the emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of ourselves. Including practices like prayer and ritual, herbs, and ceremonies that enriched my understanding of holistic care.

I did my Postpartum Doula training under DONA in NYC and followed it up with an advanced Postpartum Care and a Physiologic Baby Care trainings with Rachelle Seliga from Innate Traditions.

I also studied the Khalsa Way Kundalini Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training from Golden Bridge Yoga, Comforting Touch from Yiska Obadia, and I’m a Somatic Experience Practitioner from Somatic Institute for Women. In my practice I also apply my studies of herbalism since 2009 with Peeka Trenkle and many other local herbalists. Together with my postgraduate studies of Jungian Psychology and dream interpretation from the CG Jung Institute of NY and multiple other teachers throughout the years including Toko-pa Turner.

I’m part of Doulas en Espanol collective since 2019. I mainly support births happening at Northern Dutchess Birthing Center and home births mainly at Ulster and Dutchess counties in New York.

I feel very honored to have served over 100 families, fostering long term relationships that fill my heart with joy and gratitude, creating a sense of community and belonging to the beautiful land and region that I live on. I moved to mid Hudson Valley in 2017 and steward the land with two soul sisters, their children, and our beloved animals.
